Our programming involves multiple social events each year designed to bring members together and strengthen the foundation of our community. Summer Picnic

Each August MAG members get together to celebrate the summer and also as a last hurrah before the busy holiday making season begins. Each year the location of the Summer Picnic changes, as hosts volunteer to share their space with the group. During the event there is an educational lecture or demonstration, which have covered a variety of topics. Another really enjoyable aspect of the event is the potluck. Each member brings a sweet or savory item to share.

Holiday Party

In early December of every year, MAG members gather for a special potluck holiday celebration. Each member brings a sweet or savory item to share and those who are interested participate in an ornament and gift exchange. Depending on location there will be a lecture or demonstration.

Mixers

Throughout the year the Metal Arts Guild hosts multiple social mixers at art and metals related spaces around the Bay Area. Mixers have been held at artist studios, galleries, and small businesses. These mixers are often an opportunity to see new spaces, hear the stories of the people who started them, and support local businesses.

Tool Sale

Who can resist a roomful of tools for sale? Each year MAG collaborates with other organizations like The Crucible, Woman’s Jewelry Association, and The Center For Enamel Art, to bring together members and various vendors for a one-day Tool Sale. There are great deals on used and lightly used metalworking and enamel tools, materials, discontinued inventory, overruns, findings, gemstones, pearls, and equipment sold by makers and manufacturers.
