Social Events

social-events

Our programming involves multiple social events each year designed to bring members together and strengthen the foundation of our community. They are casual gatherings located around the Bay Area that include social mixers at local art related spaces and general venues, and our annual potluck Summer Picnic and Holiday Party.

For upcoming events and the most current dates, please check our Calendar.

Summer Picnic

Each August MAG members get together to celebrate the summer and also as a last hurrah before the busy holiday making season begins. Each year the location of the Summer Picnic changes, as hosts volunteer to share their space with the group. During the event there is an educational lecture or demonstration, which have covered a variety of topics. Another really enjoyable aspect of the event is the potluck. Each member brings a sweet or savory item to share.

These mixers are often an opportunity to see new spaces, hear the stories of the people who started them, and support local businesses.

There are great deals on used and lightly used metalworking and enamel tools, materials, discontinued inventory, overruns, findings, gemstones, pearls, and equipment sold by makers and manufacturers.
